Project Description

This was a three year contract to upgrade an existing wide area network, which had been installed by us several years earlier.  Upgrade included needs analysis for both hardware and software.  Hardware upgrade consisted of replacement of three existing file servers and the addition of three new servers.  All servers had redundant power supplies, RAID 5 disk arrays, remote management boards with external modems, tape backup libraries, and UPS backup power.

Services included:

  • purchasing, installation, configuration, and testing of servers;

  • upgrade to Netware 5, migration of NDS, after hours cutovers of new servers;

  • tape backup configuration for each server;

  • purchasing, installation and configuration of 400-seat GroupWise e-mail and collaboration client/server software;

  • purchasing, installation and configuration of ZenWorks for management of workstation software and hardware;

  • purchase and installation of AutoCad 2002 Map with CAD Overlay, including user training;

  • installation of Oracle 8i server-side database;

  • administrative training on all new systems;

  • miscellaneous assistance to the client with workstation installations and configuration;

  • on-call technical assistance for the life of the contract
