DeBruin Geomatics
added a new state-of-the-art 3D Laser Scanner to their arsenal of field
equipment in 2006. This unit measures up to 8,000 points per second,
making it a great tool for gathering survey data on building faces,
highways, bridges, subways, landscape, and architectural features
(indoors and out). It has proved to be a cost-effective alternative to
hand measuring buildings for renovations. The results are extremely
detailed 2D and 3D CAD files, or photo-realistic 3D digital models.
More
detailed data in the hands of the design professional
Can provide high
levels of detail in normally inaccessible locations
Less disruption
to ongoing operations (fewer lane closures, no problems with pedestrian
traffic, no need for scaffolding)
The designer can
take measurements anywhere on the site
Builds a
detailed model that more closely represents real world conditions than
would be obtained using conventional methods
Where to use the
Laser Scanner
Buildings
(exterior and interior); Bridges; Highways (particularly high traffic
areas); Landscaping; Subways; Tunnels; Retaining Walls and rock faces;
Tank Replacement Surveys; Sewage Treatment Plants; and Pile/Foundation
Locations.
Our Surveying practice
is forged on a combination of sound surveying principles, cutting edge
technology, and time tested quality control systems.
Our services include:
First Order Horizontal and Vertical Control;
Boundary Surveys and Acquisition Maps; Topography; Hydrographic and
Bathymetric Surveys; Utility Surveys; GIS Data Collection and Mapping;
Construction Stakeout and As-built Surveys.
We use GPS, Robotic
Total Stations and Digital Levels to produce reliable and accurate
field work. Survey data is processed in the office using a combination of
custom in-house software, InRoads Survey, InRoads Digital Terrain
Modeling, ArcGIS and Microstation V8. Completed drawings are
delivered electronically in DGN, DWG, or ESRI Shape File format.
An HP 5000PS is used to produce high resolution color plots.
Quality assurance is
provided by a combination of detailed planning, custom software designed
to check data integrity, and exhaustive checklists.
Our Computer Services practice has grown out
of our efforts to manage our own technical and business data using
leading edge hardware and software. Recognizing that our clients
have very similar information management needs, we offer our expertise to assist them with:
· Network design, installation, and
administration;
·Design of relational databases for organizing
financial data, project management information, inventory data, and
facilities management information;
·Development of custom software to manage,
access, and present data in useful ways;
·Development of GIS programs to provide the
ability to access and present information that has a geographic component;
·Acquisition of data through scanning,
surveys, and conversions.
We assist our clients in recognizing the value of their
existing data, and in creating solutions that enable their staff to
leverage the data in cost effective ways.
