Project Description
DeBruin performed topographic and hydrographic surveys of 4 parks with ponds of up to 75 acres in size each. We brought horizontal and vertical control to each site via rapid static GPS. We used robotic total station to locate surface features in park areas, and real time kinematic GPS to model the subsurface of each pond, taking shots at soft and hard bottoms in each XY location. We used the Nassau County GIS (ESRI shape files) as a backdrop to our field work. The final submission to the design Engineer was in dgn file format with DTM’s created in InRoads. During the construction phase of the project, we performed stakeout on land and pre and post dredge surveys.
