Project Description |

We performed many relevant assignments on three Term Agreements for Surveying Services. For some tasks, such as Route 25 in Greenport and Southold, NYSDOT already had base mapping, but needed subsurface utilities added. We tied into the control system of the base maps, located all utility surface features and paint marks, obtained utility record plans, performed subsurface investigations and plotted all the utilities on additional layers that overlay onto the base mapping. For other tasks, such as Stewart Avenue over the Wantagh Parkway, we located the topographic features and utility features in the field and created the complete base map with all utility data. Below are some of the tasks recently completed under these agreements. Mill Pond, Stony Brook - Bathymetric survey of pond using GPS/survey-grade depth-sounder, topographic survey of surrounding land to create composite DTM. Route 25, Greenport - Subsurface utility mapping for drainage and sewer, investigation of structures, locating them with total station, and incorporating them into State base map. Route 25, Southold - Mapping for 12.5 miles of highway including control, ROW mapping, ROW acquisitions, DTM’s, alignments and stakeout. Route 347 Photogrammetric Control - Coordinated 300 photogrammetric control points on over 18 miles of highway, set 18 permanent monuments tied into NAD83 State Plane, located photogrammetric points with RTK GPS. Redundant measurements were taken for photo points to confirm accuracy of 3cm both vertically and horizontally. Willis Avenue at LIE, Westbury - Staked out proposed curbs and utility poles for early start of utility relocations. Route 110, Huntington - Set horizontal and vertical control in busy downtown for the purpose of topographic survey, turned angles with Total Station and ran three mile bench run. |
