Project Description
The scope of this job covers aerial photography, topographic mapping, hydrographic survey, and utility survey required for the South First Street Floodwall, Engineering and Design Report for Flood Damage Reduction. The project area was within the Town of Harrison, located in Hudson County New Jersey. The goal of the project is to solve a continuing flood problem that has been causing extensive damage in the area. DeBruin set aerial control and established coordinates and elevations on them using GPS. Geomaps International performed the photogrammetry and aerial mapping and DeBruin does the field editing and final map production. We also did the hydrographic survey consisting of cross sections every 50 feet extending from the existing bulkhead/shoreline out 50 feet into the river for approximately one mile. The utilities were also surveyed and added to the topo maps.
