Project Description

DeBruin is the survey subconsultant for Underground Services, Inc. (USI) on this contract to designate and locate utilities as needed by the DOT.  USI does the utility research, designations, and test pit excavations.  DeBruin’s job is to  tie into existing control as necessary, locate the test pits and paint designations, reduce the field data using InRoads Survey and plot the utilities in Microstation according to NYS DOT standards.  DeBruin then delivers the dgn files and field notes to USI for further processing and delivery to DOT.

Recent assignments have included:

Route 25 in Southold and Greenport, NY (2001) - 12 miles of bench run, GPS control and utility locations

Route 25A from the New York City line to Summer Avenue in Great Neck (2001)

Nassau and Suffolk counties intersections (2002) - Surveyed 34 busy intersections throughout Long Island that had to be plotted and delivered within 3 weeks of designation

Nassau and Suffolk Counties intersections (2002) - Surveyed 19 additional busy intersections throughout Long Island with the same delivery schedule as above (plotted and delivered within 3 weeks of designation).

Nassau and Suffolk Counties - 80 Parkway Intersections (2003) - Surveyed  over 80 parkway ramps for new sign placement.

Brooklyn Queens Expressway (2003) – Surveyed several sites for utility plotting and sign placement.
